There are two main events that happened this week. The first was Ma'am Arceo's birthday and the other was the workshop for the production of malunggay capsules, soya products and VCO.
Last Monday (July 20, 2009), our adviser celebrated her birthday. We really prepared for her birthday. When I entered our room, I saw some of my classmates decorating the blackboard and pasting cut- outs saying "HAPPY BIRTDAY MA'AM JULIET!". After 5 minutes (I think), the officers called the attention of all the students to proceed to the gym. As I remember, we went there somewhat late because of the preparation. After the flag ceremony, we waited for our adviser to arrive. Some of us thought that she won't come to school because last year, she didn't show up on the same day of her birthday.
Someone said that she's coming. When she entered the room, we greeted her and cheered for her. After that, Vhil initiated the program. Many certificates were given to her. There was also an intermission number. The "iskinita boys" prepared a dance number and it was really entertaining. Their dance is really short. It only became long when they repeated it five times! haha. When it's the time to give our present, we kindly asked her to open the drawer in the teacher's table. We told her that we bought a box of chalk for her. She told us,
"You are not allowed to buy chalk"
Of course we really didn't buy it. When she first opened the wrong drawer, she found a ruler and a pair of scissors. When she opened the last drawer, she found our present, a cake! Since her favorite color is violet, the flavor of the cake that we gave her is Ube Macapuno (from Red Ribbon!) which is also color violet. She didn't agree when we asked her to give a speech. She said that it'll only make her cry. We're glad to see her happy and she appreciated our efforts.
Last Friday (July 24, 2009), half of the class attended the workshop that I mentioned at the first paragraph of my post. This workshop was prepared by the Science Club and it was successful. Unfortunately, I'm not one of the students who attended it. Only school level officers were allowed to go. Even though I stayed in the room, I had fun with my other classmates. I never felt tired that day because we only had some lectures and seat work. Sir Ces attended our class not to discuss Advance Statistics but to discuss about Vita Plus.
It's a relief that our teachers didn't give us homeworks this weekend. I hope that this will always happen (impossible?!).
